The pet food recalls continue.
FDA Alert: Certain Lots of Pet Food from Multiple
Brands Recalled for Aflatoxin. From the FDA website:
specific pet food products manufactured by Sunshine Mills under several
brand names, may contain unsafe levels of aflatoxin. Aflatoxin is produced
by the Aspergillus flavus mold, which can grow on corn and other grains. At
high levels, aflatoxin can cause illness and death in pets. Symptoms may
include sluggishness, loss of appetite, vomiting, jaundice (yellowish tint
to the eyes or gums due to liver damage), and/or diarrhea. In severe cases,
this toxicity can be fatal. In some cases, pets may suffer liver damage but
not show any symptoms. Brands include, Family Pet Meaty Cuts®, Heartland
Farms®, Champ®, Field Trial®, Good Dog, Hunter’s Special®, Old Glory®, Paws
Happy Life®, Pet Expert, Principle, Retriever®, River Bend, Sportsman’s

Voluntary Recall of Certain Pet Food Products Due to Potentially Elevated
Levels of Aflatoxin.
Want to avoid all these recalls? The best "wholistic"
suggestion to prevent
danger to your pet is -- STOP feeding dry kibble pet food. In our
"wholistic" opinion, dry kibble pet food containing grains is the least nutritious form of
food to feed a carnivore. It is nutritionally equivalent to feeding
meat-flavored cookies to your child. Furthermore, a majority of all pet food recalls is
with dry food. Canned food, freeze-dried food and raw food have a much lower

If you have a
high-performance or sports car, you know you must use high-octane fuel
to make it run well. Even a
regular
car needs a certain viscosity oil to run well in summer/winter. Nature
designed our and our pet's bodies the same way: we need a minimum amount
of nutrition to run well. In our previous newsletter, Nature's
Vitamin Chest 101, we stated why we have branded our whole,
superfood, bio-algae concentrates products (BioSuperfood
for people and
BioPreparation for pets) Nature's Vitamin Chest in a
capsule. In a subsequent newsletter, Nature's Vitamin
Chest 102, we explain why if you or your pet eat processed
foods, white sugar, white flour, diet soda pop, use artificial
sweeteners,
GMO ingredients (wheat, corn and soy), meat from a regular
grocery store (raised in CAFO's — Concentrated Animal Feeding
Operations) and farm-raised seafood, there is a good chance you are
nutrient deficient. But with only a 15-25% absorption and utilization
ratio, isolated supplements (such as a Vitamin C pill or fish oil
capsule) are not a good holistic solution. On the other hand, absorption
and utilization of nutrients from whole food products (like oranges,
salmon and algae) is 90-95%. In these uncertain economic times, it
literally pays to eliminate inefficient and ineffective supplements.
We suggest first looking at the multivitamins
and general overall isolated supplements taken (or given to your pet)
for
no one specific symptom or reason. Once these have been evaluated, the
second step is to evaluate the isolated supplements taken for specific
symptoms, such as Product A for arthritis, Product D for digestive
issues, Product I for the immune system, etc. From our holistic
perspective, many of these symptoms occur because we eat (or give our
pets) a poor nutritional diet. Finally, after your or your pet's body
has normalized all its gland and organ functions and the WHOLE body come
back into balance, it may be possible to reduce and even eliminate some
medications. We do recommend before changing any medications, always
consulting with your doctor/vet first. Here is a potential scenario that
has worked for many of our clients (both people and pets).
With over 5,000 individual nutrients
(including over 4,000 live enzymes) and 90-95% absorption and
utilization of nutrients, BioSuperfood for people and BioPreparation for
pets may help compensate for any nutrient deficiencies. But this does
not happen overnight and may take months to years of replenishing and
rebuilding to get back to normal. Once the body is back into balance,
there is an absence of symptoms and the client feels really good, then
they can begin experimenting (with their doctor's or vet's advice) with
decreasing their isolated supplements and even drugs. Here is how this
might work for you. Tell your doctor
what you are taking and how long you have had an absence of symptoms.
This should be at least 6 months. Ask your doctor if you or your pet can
safely decrease your supplement or medication and by what increment. See
how your or your pet's body responds.
If symptoms reappear and your body should
relapse, consider taking more BioSuperfood or giving your pet more
BioPreparation. Remember, one must take or give more
super
nutrition than is necessary to just keep
the symptoms away. This additional super nutrition will be
used by the body/brain to regenerate new cells and rebuild the glands
and organs. For example, if 6 capsules/day is enough to keep the
symptoms away but when you start to decrease your isolated supplements
or drugs the symptoms come back, try increasing to 8 capsules/day for
longer. Or if you have a chronic condition (say for 3-5 years or longer)
and you try to decrease after only 6 months on our superfood products,
increase the daily amount and hold for another 6-12 months before trying
this experiment again. Balancing the body from chronic conditions can
take a total rebuilding of gland and organ functions, using the body's

Some of our clients have been able to save money and simplify their life
by eliminating inefficient and not needed isolated supplements and even
drugs. How do we know this works? Here are some anecdotal examples:
Type I
Diabetes: My insulin intake has measurably decreased over the
past 2 months as I have been taking the BioSuperfood-f3. Throughout
2002 my daily insulin usage has averaged 42 units, including a basal
rate of 10-15 units of Lantus and the rest short acting Novolog.
Since starting use of BioSuperfood-f3, my average has dropped to
34.1 over the past 90 days, measuring on July 1. The average is 34.1
for the past 60 days, 34.3 for the past 30 days, 31.2 for the past
14 days, and 27.4 units for the past 7 days. I have been eating
lighter the past 10 days, which shows up as decreased insulin
requirements. I also notice more consistent energy and need for
about 1 hour less sleep compared to before I began using
BioSuperfood-f3 in March.

My cat, Sid, is 13 years old and for a
long time was very over weight (23 pounds). He has been
diabetic since 2002. Regulating his insulin has been very hard.
Sometimes he would need as high as 7-units twice per day for a
couple of weeks and then he could be maintained at 3-units twice per
day for months. At times he would suddenly need as low as 1-unit
twice a day for a week, then be off insulin for about three months
before having to go back on it for a year. Last January, for no
apparent reason (except maybe the bio-algae concentrates was
working) he decided to loose weight and he weighs 18 pounds now. In
June, 2005, we started giving Sid ¼-capsule bio-algae concentrates
per day. He went off the insulin in August, 2005 for a month or so
and then was back on it until May, 2006. Starting in May, 2006, he
started taking Transfer Factor Classic in addition to bio-algae
concentrates. Now, between the two products, he is a different cat.
Sid is outside, jumping fences and happy. He blows me kisses with
his eyes. He is quite the ladies' man. Before bio-algae concentrates
he was a bed potato, hiding in the closet. As of 06/06/06, the vet
took Sid off insulin for good (see vet report). His whole outlook on
life is different after giving bio-algae concentrates!
