Optimum Choices is not housing these dogs and has no further information on them. We are simply posting their pictures here as a service to the Misha May Foundation. Please contact Lorraine May, executive director, for further information at mishamayfoundation@gmail.com. Applications may be downloaded from the links below and e-mailed to Lorraine.

You can read about our adoption process and submit an application for dogs at www.mishamayfoundation.org, Adoptions page. As we do not have a facility, we can make arrangements for you to meet the dog you are interested in after you complete and email an application. Or, you are welcome to check our events page, mishamayfoundation.org/events.htm for our scheduled adoptathons. If you want to know if a certain dog will be at an event, please email mishamayfoundation@gmail.com for that information.

Dogs adopted through Misha May may attend our training classes for half price. See the description and schedule at http://mishamayfoundation.org/events.htm.

If you aren't sure about adopting yet, but would like to help an animal, please consider becoming a foster home. We offer 2 week, 30 day, 90 day and longer foster contracts. We often need emergency help and it is easier for us if we have approved applications on file. We will train you and prepare you.

Tragic: Out of every 10 families that get dogs, only 4 families keep theirs beyond the first year. Misha May is determined to change that, so we place a great deal of importance on where each dog goes. We want to work with you for a forever match. Adoption fees for dogs begin at $100. We are always in need of foster homes, volunteers and donations of money and supplies. Email mishamayfoundation@gmail.com if you would like more information.

See Teddy live here:

Teddy

Teddy is a 2 year old neutered male Chow Chow/Australian Shepherd mix. He is house trained and crate trained, and takes treats very gently. Teddy is the kind of dog who can wait patiently while his owner is at work. He has a very sweet and acquiescent personality. It's like he is always trying to tell you something with his eyes. Teddy needs a decent sized yard where he can run his herding patterns. He loves to carry toys in his mouth, or to chase them and then lie down beside them. Running to you and sitting down or lying down is very fun for him, too.

Teddy was frightened when we first rescued him. He now has many friends and does well in most situations. He has been to training class, the vet's office and has been groomed - he was relaxed most of the time. Teddy's best home is with adults who are homebodies. Being a Chow, Teddy is a breed suspicious of strangers. At home, he can guard his kingdom and relax in the environment and with the people he knows and loves.

Teddy does best with low key introductions and not too much stimulation like crowds and chaos. We would not adopt Teddy to a household with cats or children. Teddy does not want to live with a walker, a runner, a jogger or a dog park fanatic. Teddy wants to be home - he is a couch potato who will get enough exercise in his yard. His foster mom says he is a perfect dog for a person living alone, who wants a dog who will devote himself to the owner, bark only to alert, and not bond more strongly with others than he does with the owner. Teddy would love to be devoted to you!

Teddy's adoption fee is $200. He is neutered, micro chipped, and up-to-date on vaccines.
