Comments by Russell Louie

I have used the Gratitude blend along with Idaho Balsam Fir and the Believe blend since they were released last June. I was suffering from depression over my mother’s death, getting laid off three times in less than one year and the loss of my career. I found that using these three oils before any of the other emotional oils (e.g., Inspiration, Magnify Your Purpose, Abundance) for depression was the key for me.

Before we can move forward out of depression, we always must have gratitude for what we have. So how can we have gratitude for the loss of a loved one and being laid off from a job? By realizing that these are only temporary conditions and that these seemingly “bad” conditions can be used to thrust us into higher states of joy. By having gratitude for where we are and what we have we are living in the present moment and not projected into the future. Too often we live in the future by thinking how much better our life would be if we had a better job, different relationship, X number of dollars. By putting all our energies and worries into our wish life we do not have any energy left over to take concrete steps to improve our present conditions.

Idaho Balsam Fir is used for more than just sore muscles. I have found it uplifts my spirits and calms my nerves. A feeling of contentment is produced.

Taoism Today

Taoism is the only indigenous religion to China. But Taoism is more than a religion; it is an ancient Chinese philosophy and a way of life. Taoism has been described as a force that pervades all things, related to the cause of all events and is an explanation for why things happen. This spiritual practice embraces the whole universe and accepts humanity and they world just as they are.

The Tao Te Ching is a set of 81 chapters compiled by the venerable master, Lao Tsu, around the fifth century, B.C. It is not so much a set of religious rules and regulations as it is a compilation of observations regarding how the universe behaves and functions. “The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” is one reading from this book. Taoism teaches us to trust the process and live in conscious harmony with the natural laws. Following the Tao makes life flow easier. Come learn how to apply this simple philosophy to make your personal life, professional career and the events of the world around us more harmonious as we search for the fulfillment of life’s potential.

Book(s) of the Month

Conversations with Dog and Conversations with Cat by Kate Solisti-Mattelon. Click on the pictures below for more information and to order online:

For December, we have picked a pair of books that make great stocking stuffers for the pet lovers in your life. These books by animal communicator Kate Solisti-Mattelon tap into the wisdom that every pet lover knows is present in dogs and cats. They explain why dogs and cats choose to live with humans and what we can learn from them. Also, many of the questions we would like to be able to ask our pets are answered, both mundane and spiritual, such as (to cats) "what's the best way to introduce a new cat into your house?" and (to dogs) "how do you tolerate cruelty and mistreatment and still respond with unconditional love?".
