Pet Food RecallsThe pet food recalls continue. The best "wholistic" suggestion to prevent danger to your pet is: STOP feeding dry kibble dog food. In our "wholistic" opinion, dry kibble dog food is the least nutritious form of food to feed a carnivore. Furthermore, a majority of all pet food recalls is with dry food. Canned food, freeze-dried food and raw food have a much lower percentage of recalls. For the latest recalls, go to: Dog Food Recalls or FDA website To read more on our "wholistic" philosophy on pet food, go to the following links:

Grain-Free Foods Linked to Canine Dilated Cardiomyopathy (DCM): Part 2Kate Solisti, our dear friend and animal associate, has been hearing a lot of scuttlebutt regarding the dangers of feeding "BEG" (boutique, exotic, grain-free) diets because of the FDA's scare from their study, Potential Link between Certain Diets and Canine Dilated Cardiomyopathy (DCM). It is not surprising that this misinformation is coming from the traditional pet food industry and conventional Western veterinary community. They actually promote going back to feeding a grain-based dry kibble diet as healthier. We urge you to uncover the truth for yourself and your furry children (before it is too late) in our first August newsletter, reprinted below, and register for our free Zoom teleconference meeting on August 21: "Grain-Free Food Scare and DCM (Dilated Cardiomyopathy): Our Truly Holistic Perspective"
After publishing our July newsletter, FDA Investigates Potential Link between Certain Diets and Canine Dilated Cardiomyopathy (DCM), we have heard that some people are confused and even scared in deciding what is good for their pet. While avoiding grains in dry kibble food, have they now subjected their pet to possible heart conditions? Our good colleague and great animal communicator, Kate Solisti, has been keeping a close eye on the situation and been gathering more details from pet store owners, holistic pet food manufacturers and holistic vets. Discover the details in her July blog: Update on DCM and Dog Food Worries The FDA began an investigation (July 2018) into reports of canine dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) in pets eating certain foods, many "grain-free" labeled, that contained a high proportion of peas, lentils, other legume seeds (pulses), and/or potatoes in various forms (whole, flour, protein, etc.) as main ingredients. Main ingredients are listed within the first 10 ingredients in the ingredient list (before vitamins and minerals). The FDA believed there was a potential association between these grain-free diets and DCM in dogs caused by multiple factors and required scientific investigation. For more details on this preliminary report, go to: In our July newsletter, we gave our holistic reasons why these grain-free foods might be poor holistic choices:
Do not be swayed by all the misinformation and misleading advertising by the large conglomerate pet food companies.
